We just returned from a lovely week away in the north woods.  This was our misty post dinner walk...beautiful.

autumn napkin holder

We've been without an official napkin holder for quite a while now.  When my youngest came home with two pumpkins from a field trip to the pumpkin patch, it became obvious.  Pumpkins are great napkin holders. They'd be great book ends too!

This is Nina.  Made from a japanese pattern book.  She's one of those dolls that's a little bit floppy, which I think is a very good thing.  Dolls should be able to 'dance', and if they are not floppy they just don't 'dance' well.  As a child my grandmother had two dolls which I affectionately called the 'floppy dolls', they were my favorites and it's fun to now have a 'floppy' doll for my little girl.

pumpkin pillows

These are my pumpkin pillows.  They sit in our play room, the larger ones work as little seats, but more often than not they are used as the ultimate pillow fighting weapon.   I saw something similar in a magazine many years ago, but came up with this pattern on my own.   Tutorial will be coming soon!
